The 2017 STP&A conference will be held in Minneapolis, MN, October 12-14, co-hosted by the University of St. Thomas and the University of Minnesotas program in Arts and Cultural Leadership.
Most conference sessions and events will take place at the University of St. Thomas downtown campus, in the heart of the central business district, with close proximity to hotels, restaurants, the Theater District, and Orchestra Hall, among other attractions. Minneapolis, widely regarded as one of the most livable and arts-friendly cities in the US, is a Delta Air Lines hub, with direct flights from throughout the US as well as Asia and Europe.
STP&A is an interdisciplinary gathering of researchers, policy-makers, practitioners and students that explore key trends, practices and policy issues concerning the arts around the world.
STP&A is the oldest and one of the most influential academic gatherings of researchers and practitioners in the field of arts management and cultural policy. STP&A participants are drawn from a broad range of disciplines including, but not limited to: political science, sociology, economics, law, arts management, arts education, art history, museum studies, cultural studies, education, and policy studies as well as arts managers and artists.
The conference is affiliated with the Journal of Arts Management, Law, and Society (JAMLS), which has been an authoritative peer-reviewed journal in the arts management and cultural policy for more than 40 years.
