Comments:
The festival is a platform for promotion and dialogue. How much can participants benefit from such event very much depends on mutual interests and respectful and efficient communication. The festival also attracts many domestic promoters who come to get good Chinese productions, which accounts a large amount of the successful transactions. Chinas own productions are not as well understood by international promoters as productions from abroad understood by local promoters or audience. As it has been said by the Managing Director of Back Row Productions Garry Mcquinn, to work with local partners, one should share both profits and risks; all risks and low profits for local partners needs to change. Chinas performing arts market is exploring new ways to get mature. International cooperation in China includes not only importing foreign productions but also international co-productions between artists in China and other countries such as Sino-Australian dance production Hua Mulan and Chinese acrobatics in Rose Englishs Tantamount Esperanso.
