FORTE. New European Project for Culture, Education and Youth
FORTE is a project funded under the Joint Actions strand of the European Commissions Socrates, Leonardo and Youth programmes. It focuses on the common ground among youth, education, and culture, as a basis for youth participation and development.
Coordinated by the Interarts Foundation, the project brings together four pioneering partner organisations from Germany, Lithuania, Spain and the UK, which work with cultural tradition, experimentation and exchange to make learning attractive for young people and allow them to develop new skills and participate actively in society.
Four experienced professionals and researchers from different European countries accompany the projects and draft a training manual for teachers and other agents active at the crossroads of culture, education and youth participation in Europe. It will be disseminated by a number of associated institutions from the involved countries.
This website wants to inform you on FORTE, its activities and results, and on all those who take part in it. Right at its core youll find four weblogs, run by the young participants of each of the projects, which document their activities. Further documents of interest will be uploaded as FORTE progresses. But the site also aims to provide broader information from the youth cultural education sector. An extensive searchable database and a link list offer information on best practices and relevant organisations in this field in Europe in. Feel free to subscribe to our newsletter to find out more!
