New marketing strategy at the National History Museum in Chile

The National History Museum of Santiago de Chile, which still lacks of international popularity and sufficient financial support, initiates a new innovative strategy of cultural marketing with the purpose of raising funds and spreading the national patrimony...
The Photographic Archive of the Chilean National History Museum has given access to more than 20 thousand photos of great documentary value to the public, providing digital photographic copies from different époques and personalities like for instance Clark Gable, visiting Chile in 1936, the Ex- President Arturo Alessandri Palm next to his dog Ulk, or Pablo Neruda among others.

The website offers the possibility to search in the categories of arts, catastrophes, clubs, emblematic icons, social events, industries, professions, transport, religion, and urbanism. The prices from 10$US include digital copies optional in high resolution or photographic paper. This type of patrimonial merchandising preserves antique positives, which almost suffer from fragility, instability or from degradation processes, not to lose in valuable iconographic content.
