Penn Humanities Forum stipends
The Penn Humanities Forum of the University of Pennsylvania has a small number of $1500 stipends available for the 2005-2006 academic year for faculty in the humanities and allied disciplines from Philadelphia-area colleges and universities and for department directors and curators of Philadelphia-area arts and cultural organizations. The stipends are meant to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue and scholarship across the region's academies and cultural institutions.
Interested candidates should be conducting work related to Word and Image, the Forum's topic of study for 2005-2006. Application procedures and the Word and Image topic description are available on the Forum's website: http://humanities.sas.upenn.edu
Mellon Regional Research Fellows must attend weekly luncheon research seminars at the Penn Humanities Forum (Tuesdays, 12:00 - 2:00, please allow travel time when scheduling classes or other duties) and present their research at one of the sessions during the academic year (September-April). The $1500 award carries a free Penn library card for the term of the fellowship.
