Sustainable Cultural Heritage
British Council Seminars is running the forthcoming international seminar Sustainable cultural heritage from 3-8 December 2006 in Bath, UK. It will explore strategies for historic buildings and archaeological sites, including:
* advocacy
* adaptive reuse
* heritage protection and maintenance
* local and regional partnerships
* regeneration and cultural tourism.
It is of interest to senior managers from museums and heritage institutions, government officials with responsibility for the historic environment, and representatives from cultural heritage NGOs.
Directed by Jane Weeks, Henrietta Hopkins and Anita Van Mil, this event is based in the historic city of Bath, a World Heritage Site since 1987, and study visits will be made to the surrounding area, industrial archaeology sites in South Wales and urban regeneration sites in Bristol.
