adviceBank's and boardBank's activities for Arts and Business

adviceBank and boardBank create opportunities for people from arts and business to work together to strengthen management and governance in the arts.
adviceBank (supported by National Principal Partner KPMG) is a free service which connects non-for-profit arts organisations with business volunteers to work on specific projects. AbaF runs the program, arranges introductions, provides support and monitors the outcomes. Projects include business and strategic planning, marketing and Public Relations, human resources, IT or legal issues.

boardBank is a free service which connects experienced and skilled professionals with non-for-profit arts organisations seeking to fill vacancies on their boards. AbaF assists arts organisations seeking to fill vacancies on their boards..

Some of the recent volunteering placements include:

Roger McFarlane-Clark, Managing Director of Tasmanian Enterprise Developers, has been assisting with The Australian Script Centre and Hunter Island Press to develop their strategic plans.
Joan Roberts, Partner at Dobson Mitchell and Allport, has assisted Friends of Musica Viva Tasmania with changes to their constitution.
Cathy Limb, Stakeholder Relations Manager at Zinifex, is currently helping the Arts Action to develop a marketing and media plan for their upcoming Festival.
Hugh McKenzie, Partner at KPMG, has assisted Arts Action to develop a business plan and is currently working with Slipstream Circus to develop their business plan.
