Two days of discussion will focus on the encounter between the cultural domain and digital culture and will question if the cultural operators and resource centers are lagging behind in the exploitation of new possibilities.
The introductory session is open to the general public. We are inviting several speakers who will present the evolution and development of digital culture, its characteristics and how to assess technology, as well as looking at the engines that drove and drive these explorations. The conference will examine ways to construct on-line instruments and a virtual interface dedicated specifically to cultural information.
Specific debates will be conducted in working groups by exchanging and examining experience, presenting case studies and discussing inspiring models of the use of new technology for providing information, building communities and strengthening the professional capacities of cultural operators and artists working across borders in Europe. Only a selected group of people (max. 15) will be invited to each working group.
'Physical' participation in the working groups is limited. Applications are available from On The Move before May 15th . Contact: communication@ietm.org
Virtual participation, however, is possible as the conferences of the colloquium will be streamed on the website of ERBAN , where several pages will be dedicated to this colloquium.
