Culture Plus Forum in Moscow, November 2006
The Culture Plus Forum is an annual international event held on the initiative of the Cultural Policy Institute in Moscow, Russia, and conceived as a presentation space and a discussion club. The Forum is an opportunity to examine various aspects of interaction between culture, society, economy and politics. The Culture Plus Forum 2006 will explore the contribution of culture for the urban and regional development.
The Forum will bring together creative professionals and representatives of authorities, the media and business community to develop understanding that culture nowadays should be regarded not only as the domain of heritage and traditions. It is time to discover the economic power of culture, to understand that it can be
(1) a potent tool of territorial marketing,
(2) an important factor in workforce and investment attraction,
(3) an effective means to enhance competitiveness,
(4) an inexhaustible source of creativity and innovation for business and territorial development.
The Forum will feature exhibitions, discussions, presentations and workshops on the benefits of culture for the sustainable territorial development, on its potential to enhance the regional economy and to encourage the social regeneration and cohesion.
